Man mano che riconquistano Kronus, espandono il proprio regno per ottenere risorse su tutto il campo di battaglia, restaurando antiche strutture e attivando la loro Power Matrix, ribaltando progressivamente le sorti della guerra a loro favore. Al centro del loro impero in espansione si erge la Tomb Citadel, che funge anche da centro di produzione delle tue unità.
A guidare le loro forze ci sono due potenti comandanti: il Cronomante Thothmek, che piega il tempo per mettere in difficoltà i nemici e accelerare la rianimazione dei Necroni, e Ahmnok, un tempo sovrano di Kronus, completamente consumato dal desiderio di annientare ogni forma di vita. Con legioni in grado di autoripararsi, costrutti indomabili e tecnologie antiche che piegano lo spazio e il tempo, i Necron non si adattano alla guerra, ma sopravvivono ad essa.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV sarà disponibile dal 17 settembre 2026, mentre i giocatori della Commander Edition potranno accedervi già dal 14 settembre grazie a uno sblocco anticipato di 3 giorni. Entrambe le edizioni sono già disponibili in preordine con uno sconto del 10%. La guerra continuerà anche molto tempo dopo il lancio. Year One include aggiornamenti gratuiti con il ritorno della modalità Crusade, nuove mappe, modalità, comandanti e l’editor di missioni, oltre a due importanti espansioni della trama che approfondiranno il conflitto su Kronus e introdurranno una nuova fazione giocabile sul campo di battaglia.
