Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania Adds Beat from Jet Set Radio

Iconic Member of the GG’s Joins the Monkey Gang as an Unlockable Character at Launch on October 5

JET SET RADIOOOOOOOO! SEGA® revealed today that Beat, laidback “Rudie” and main protagonist from the cult classic Jet Set Radio, is coming to Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania as a playable character when the game launches on PC and consoles on October 5, 2021.

Jet Set Radio, the wall-tagging Dreamcast™ classic from 2000, introduced players to Beat and the anti-establishment GG’s, the rebel street gang of graffiti artists founded to fight for free expression. Now Beat brings his trademark flair, carefree attitude, and inline skating prowess to the world of Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania as a playable character unlockable on all platforms through normal gameplay at launch.

Beat joins the monkey gang with his original style fully intact, sporting his trademark green goggles, soundwave lenses, oversized headphones, and the same magnetic skates he used to glide and grind through the futuristic streets of Tokyo-to. Instead of bananas, players will collect spray paint cans as they roll, tilt, and bounce through the wondrous worlds of Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania.

Beat is the first of several iconic guest characters joining the monkey gang in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania – follow the official Super Monkey Ball channels on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube for future reveals in the coming weeks!

Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania launches on October 5, 2021, for Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One. Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania will also support Xbox Series X Smart Delivery immediately on release, ensuring players will only have to buy the game once to play it on their favorite Xbox console. Additionally, buy the digital PS4™ version from PlayStation™Store or the physical version from a retailer and play the PS5™ version at no extra cost.
