Nadat het 2020 FIA Formula 2 Championship ™ het spannende laatste raceweekend beleefde in Bahrein, biedt Codemasters vandaag spelers de mogelijkheid om de geschiedenis te herschrijven met een gratis F2™ 2020-seizoensupdate voor F1® 2020, de officiële videogame van het FIA 2020 FORMULE ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ™. Spelers kunnen nu racen met de volledige line-up van 2020, inclusief alle 11 teams, wagens en coureurs, waaronder de nieuwe FIA Formula 2™-kampioen Mick Schumacher.
De F2™-game-variant bootst de tegenhanger uit de echte wereld na met 12 weekenden die elk uit twee races bestaan. De eerste, bekend als de hoofdrace, volgt een standaardformaat, waarbij de startposities van de coureurs worden bepaald door hun kwalificatietijden en de 10 hoogst geplaatste coureurs punten krijgen. Tijdens de tweede race, genaamd Sprint Race, strijden de achtst hoogst geplaatste coureurs van de eerste race in omgekeerd volgorde in een kortere race, waarna een lager aantal punten wordt verdeeld. Bij beide races wordt de snelste ronde beloond met twee extra punten.
